Altar Server

   Adult: Ruth Wilkinson, coordinator

Open to men and women of the parish. Responsible for setting up the altar, vessels and cloths for the service of God. Servers assist in the greatest act of worship in the Catholic community. Adult participation is needed for the 9AM daily Mass and for Funeral Masses as scheduled.
   Youth: Meg Venuti, coordinators
Altar service is an opportunity for high school youth and the children of our parish in Grades 3-8 to serve God and their community. Responsible for setting up the altar, including the vessels for the service of God. The altar server assists the priest at the altar during all parish liturgies. Periodic classes are scheduled for training. Servers are scheduled for 1-2 Masses per month.  In appreciation for their service, all servers are invited to a trip to Canobie Lake Park in June.

 

Altar and Sacristy Ministry

This dedicated group of people tend to the order and cleanliness of our worship space.  They assist in the cleaning of the sacristy and sanctuary areas, maintain church linens, and prepare the church vessels and candle holders.

Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts

Open to boys in First Grade and up. Meetings are held weekly. Parents must be willing to help out as needed. Troops #20 & 21.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Ministers of the Eucharist are called to assist in the nourishing of all God’s people with the Body and Blood of Christ. Each minister is offered a series of instruction dealing with Christian life and an emphasis on Eucharist. Eucharistic Ministers serve the parish community by distribution of communion during liturgy and at other times by assisting with the distribution of the Eucharist to parishioners both in church and at home.

Finance Council

Fr. Lou Palmieri, pastor
Advises the pastor on matters pertaining to the material needs of the parish community. Its mission is to develop financial strategies needed to carry out the goals of the parish as outlined in goal projections. These issues include maintenance of parish facilities, recommend expense savings, set annual budget, and informs parishioners annually on parish financial position. Council members are: Richard Meade, Caryn Smith, Claire Mason, Walter Mashall and Mike Grindlay.

Lector

Sr. Catherine Lee, SCN, coordinator
Ministers of the Word assist clergy at Mass by bringing the Word of God to parishioners. Lectors may also bring the Word of God to the sick and infirm of the parish. Lectors are generally scheduled for one Mass per month.

Mothers’ Prayer Group

Jennie Richer & Jenny Dupill, coordinators
We are a group of moms who support each other in our vocations as mothers. We are all striving to live our faith and to pass on the faith to our children. Our group exists to offer friendship, support and formation. We are always open to new members no matter where they are on their journey of faith and motherhood. We meet weekly Wednesday mornings at 9:30 in the lower Church at St. Ann’s. Children are welcome.

Music Ministry

Adult & Youth Choirs: Jennifer Emery
Encourages all members of the parish to participate in the performance of music to enhance the community’s prayer life. Adult choir performs weekly at the 11:00AM Mass and as scheduled for holy day celebrations. The Youth choir performs weekly from October to June at the 9:00AM Sunday Mass celebration. In appreciation for their service, all youth choir members are invited to a trip to Canobie Lake Park in June. Rehearsals: Adult choir—Sundays at 10:00AM;  Youth choir—Sundays at 8:15AM.

Within guidelines established by the Archdiocese of Boston, children from Grades 1-10 receive religious instruction. Grades 1-5 meet Sunday mornings for one hour, Grades 6-8 meet on Wednesday evenings for one hour, and Grades 9 and 10 meet for one semester on Sunday afternoons for one hour and fifteen minutes.   Parental involvement as Catechists, Aides and Monitors are encouraged and all are welcome. Training and support are provided by the coordinator. Sacramental Preparation: Gr. 1 & 2 Reconciliation & First Communion; Gr. 9 & 10  Confirmation.

Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council is an advisory board and strategic planning body consisting of appointed members and the clergy of the  parish. The coordinator of religious education, the liturgical coordinator and the parish staff are also members. The group addresses matters relate to the overall pastoral life of the parish and its parishioners. The Parish Council meets several times throughout the year. Parish Council Members are: Kevin Croake, Bob Gardiner, Jim Nichols, Donna McDonald and Pete McNally.

Respect Life

Proclaims that all human life is a precious gift from God and each recipient of the gift has responsibilities toward God, Self, and others.  Collaborates with other parish ministries and parish community to inform parishioners on current issues involving the protection of all life at every stage. Includes both a religious level with prayer and a civic level through informing parishioners on current issues involving human life at the local, state and federal levels.

RCIA

A formal program designed to better inform those who wish to join the church, or who are baptized and seek a deeper understanding. It includes three sacraments of Initiation which are Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. RCIA focuses on our basic belief the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society is an association of lay women whose primary goal is to help those in need. Among the various activities of the Society are short-term, emergency, material and financial assistance; and in securing food, clothing and shelter. The presence of the poor in our community remains a constant reality. Most often the need is for food or clothing but as the housing costs have risen and layoffs affecting our people have taken place, other needs have increased.  Requests for fuel/utility assistance and rental help have become more common.

Sunday Coffee & Donut Social

Our coffee and donuts socials take place after the 9AM Sunday liturgy in the lower church hall. (September –June).  The socials give us an opportunity to visit with old friends, make some new ones and build up our faith community. Volunteers are always welcome to assist with set-up and clean-up. To volunteer please call Kevin or Sue Kindregan.

Ushers

At Masses, we are greeted at the door by ushers who welcome us to the celebration of the Eucharist. They assist parishioners with seating during Mass. Ushers distribute bulletins and take up the offertory collection at Masses. In addition to regular Masses, ushers are scheduled for special liturgies.
